Today I headed over to the Upper Yarra Museum's "Crank Up 2012". The video speaks for itself really, but there was a lovely Aveling and Porter Traction Engine (click on the link to watch it). The Traction engine itself is a cracker, but the display of Stationery Engines was fantastic. The reassuring chug chug chug speaks to a time unlike ours, where high speed whoring noises reflect our frenetic pace of life. So I hope you enjoy the videos. I had a great day and loved the atmosphere.

Today I headed up to Fernshaw to explore the start of the Morley Track. Initially the track is scrubby and not particularly beautiful, but after about 10 minutes the Forest opens out to the glory you can see in the video. The signs said "9 Kms to the Dom Dom Saddle, and 23kms to Mt Toolebewong". Now theres a walk I'd like to do. Maybe one day. The DSE, or The Department of Sparks and Embers, as the Father-in-Law calls them, were having a controlled burn off, so the smell and sight of smoke was evident.

Today after class, I was in the mood to film something, and headed to Maroondah Reservoir to enjoy the splendor of Autumn and its emerging colours. Mostly yellows and a few red trees. But the real colour of Autumn is yet to come. I'll head back there when the full colour show arrives, camera in hand of course. Check out my video above and leave a comment. I love feedback on my work.
